About David R. Bámaca

Public Accountant and Auditor, with more than 35 years of experience in independent audits, financial and tax advisory for international and local companies.

David is a founder of the firm HLB Bámaca Morales & Asociados in 2004.  Since then, the firm has been a Member of HLB International. He is also in charge of the continuing education program in Guatemala, and cooperator in International Quality Control reviews for Central America HLB firms.

Before founding HLB Guatemala, he was partner of MRI International, an audit firm for 3 years. During 14 years he was also Senior Director for two of the so called Big Four Firms in Guatemala, being in charge of clients relationship, and he was also Director of the Continuing Education activities for Latin American.

In other areas of expertise, David was controller for a poultry industry, internal auditor of one the the biggest chain retail industries in Guatemala. His expertise includes the knowledge of International Audit Standards, and the implementation of International Financial Reporting Standards and/or internal control systems for many international companies.

He has been Member of the Board of Directors and of the Honor Commission of the Guatemalan Institute of CPA´s, member of International Federation of Accountants and of the Guatemalan Professional College of CPA’ s.

He was honored as 2018 distinguished professional by the Guatemalan Institute of CPA’s

David has been also an audit and accounting professor in two important Universities in Guatemala for 12 years.
